Drains – tree roots will naturally seek out water and they don’t care where this water comes from. If you have cracked drainage pipes, even with the smallest of cracks, the roots will try and penetrate these pipes so they can absorb the water that flows through them. They will then channel their root network further down the drain and can cause blockages that will then affect water draining away from your home. It is important o aheva ny crack repaired as soon as possible and a Drain Lining Company like

Foundations – tree roots are incredibly strong and in some cases they can travel as far and the canopy above the ground, is wide. The taller your tree is the further the roots will reach. It is important to think about this when you are planting trees in your garden. You want to make sure that they are not close enough that the roots could start to affect your foundations. There are ways you can prevent this from happening such as planting them in pots to reduce the amount of growth that they have.

Bad weather –  in high winds trees can bend and their branches can break. This can cause further hazards. Trees that are close to buildings can be blown towards the property and the branches can break the glass in windows. They can also fall onto roof spaces and cause damage to the tiles and slates.

Falling leaves – trees turn beautiful colours in autumn and whilst this can be aesthetically pleasing it also means that you need to think about ways in which you can remove these fallen leaves. When leaves get damp they become slippy so it is best to remove these as soon as you can. Placing them in a compost bin is a great way to return nutrients to the soil later on in the year.

If you look after your tree, plan carefully where you are going to plant them and regularly maintain them to check for broken branches and to keep them at a safe height, you will be able to enjoy them without affecting your property.
